The Fossil Insect Collaborative TCN is a group of seven institutions, each with large holdings of fossil insects. The member institutions are both large and small and collectively house approximately 479,270 insect specimens. These collections represent at least one third of the global fossil insect collections (e.g., One of the world’s largest collections of fossil insects, the Palaeontological Institute (PIN) -Russian Academy of Sciences, has ~204,000 specimens, pers. com.
